Hey Everyone,
it looks like I spent all my juice on last week's letter because I've been trying to figure out what to write this week and I got nothing. Brother Gish asked us to come to seminary so the youth can get a little more exposure to the missionaries. It went really well, we just attended the class like we were students, then Brother Gish asked us to talk for a couple of minutes at the end. We also had District meeting that day, which was really good as always, and we had to get our oil changed, which we thought would take an hour, but ended up taking more than two, but we adapted.
Wednesday I got to go to Frederick 1st with Elder Musonda, our third exchange together, so that was a lot of fun. We found a really nice man from Ghana who had had a lot of member friends growing up, so we had a nice talk with him about what we actually do. Thursday, as I'm sure you're aware, was Thanksgiving, so we spent a lot of time eating with few different member families, it was an amazing opportunity to get to know them more. Friday we biked a ton around to different members and potentials. Saturday we visited more people, and Sunday was really the most exciting bit of the week. I won't tell you how we got there, you should know that after dinner every night, it's pitch black, so we're relying on our headlights for our bikes, and we ended up in a bunch of mud. So after riding to the point that our wheels wouldn't turn anymore, we jumped off and picked up our bikes to trek the rest of the way. While we were cleaning our bikes off at the end, Elder Merkley realized that his bag fell off somewhere along the way, so we left our bikes, said a prayer, and started trekking back to find the bag. Well we reached a landmark that I remembered in a different way than we had gone the first time, so I knew we had gone the wrong path. I told Elder Merkley and we turned around and started walking the proper way. Not more than 50 feet later, Elder Merkley's bag was sitting on the ground. So the lessons in that, make sure your bag is secure, don't ride through mud, and always listen to the Spirit, even if it doesn't make the most sense.
Love you all,
Elder Howell
