Missed A Week

Hey all, Sorry I didn't write last week, it was kind of a chaotic day filled with bowling and an ER visit, not necessarily in that order. Elder Miles and I went to Walmart early in the morning because we were planning on going bowling with the Front Royal elders around  noonish . When we got home Elder Miles was opening a box and he cut his finger. He didn't cry out or anything, he just walked into the kitchen and told me he was bleeding. So we put 3 band-aids on it then wrapped it in tape to keep pressure on it, very MacGyver of us. Then he sat down i looked at him and he looked a little out of it. When he put his head down i told him to get up and stay moving. Needless to say, he go about 15 or 20 more feet then decided to take a closer look at the floor. He was still awake so I called the Zone Leaders then Sister Christiansen and I took him to the ER. They looked at his finger then glued it shut, did you know they had medical glue instead of stitches? We left the ER and went...

8 Months and Full Integration

Image
Hey everyone, So much has happened this week, it all seems like a blur so lets see if I can remember the highlights. We spent the majority of last Monday running around town, looking in Thrift shops and everywhere looking for some better work clothes, so I don't ruin the jacket I had for missionary work. Elder Miles also found some pretty fun stuff there, he seems to have a knack for finding stuff but I'll get into that later. That night a member took us out to Uncle Bucks, a local southern restaurant. It was so good.  Elder Miles and I can't remember what we did  on Tuesday  and nothing important happened  on Wednesday .  Thursday  was the really long day. If you haven't heard already, the church is integrating smart phones into missionary work instead of tablets. Since my mission never had tablets, we got to jump straight from old fashioned missionary work to working with these smart phones. We had Zone Conference  on Thursday , which is ...

Massive Changes

Hey Everyone, So  Tuesday  started off as a normal day, woke up, got dressed, left for District meeting. we had to go and pick up the Shrewsberry Elders because their car was in the shop, ours had to go in later, manufactures recall to fix the trunk, or something like that. When we got to the church and sat down to study,  President Christiansen called. He told me that he had been looking at the transfer board and praying about it. then he told me that I won't be going to Baltimore but re-opening the Luray, pronounced Lu-ray, Virginia branch to missionary work. As soon as he told me, the excitement of going back to Baltimore was replaced by the calm power of the Holy Ghost, telling me that this is where I need to be right now. Baltimore will come later. So  on Wednesday  morning I finished packing and a member drove us down to Colombia, where I spent the next hour running around, gathering a phone, car and house keys, and getting my new companion, Elder ...

Back to Baltimore!

Hey all, So big news for this week, Elder Graff and I are getting doubled out of West York. He is getting transferred elsewhere in the stake but I am getting transferred down to the Baltimore Young Single Adult Ward. So I'm going back to Baltimore!! Of course I am sad to leave West York, the members here are incredible. And I'm going to be leaving a baptism for them  on Saturday , Roberta passed her baptismal interview last week so she'll be getting baptized  on Saturday .  We had District meeting with the Zone Leaders, a lot of it was about Technology and how to use it responsibly. We also got a new booklet that is designed to be a how-to guide on using technology. After that we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for Lunch with a set of the Spanish Elders, it was buy one, get one free day.  Tuesday  and  Wednesday  both were really warm, in the high 60s and 70s so we just wore short-sleeved shirts again. The rest of the week was mostly spent walking....

Spanish Work and Miracles

Hey all, I'm going to start with the crazy stuff this week and it'll progressively get more spiritual.  On tuesday  we had an awesome District Meeting  on Tuesday  and a wonderful dinner with the Bishop and his family. It was Spanish's day to have the car so the Bishop's son, who is preparing his mission papers, dropped us off on the East side of the city. We tried to visit a few people around there then decided to try down Market St, at the center of the city, so that Spanish could pick us up without wasting too many miles. We stopped at McDonald's, one of two public bathrooms in the city, and a guys started talking to us there. He did the normal spiel about needing money and we gave our normal answer of we don't have anything, which usually gets people to go away. But not this guy, he just kept talking and getting more and more insulting until he finally called me racist because I didn't have any cash on me... that makes total sense, right? When we fin...
