The Old Rim A Snail on my Boot A Beautiful Sunset

Breaking up over a hamburger Apr. 30, 2018

Hey all, Elder Miles and I had a super funny moment at dinner  on Friday . We had stopped at 7/11 because we had a hankering for Gatorade and that is the cheapest place to get it, and Elder Miles decided he wanted to get a cheeseburger as well. So we get back to the apartment and I pull out our box of frozen burgers, thank you Sister Judd, and start heating up the stove while he eats his burger. Something you need to know about Elder Miles is that one of my many nicknames for him is the one man theater, he is a very funny, dramatic, dwarf, and that causes me to be a bit dramatic at times as well. He finished his burger and looked at me and asked if I would make him one; our recurring joke is that he is useless in the kitchen because the two times he's tried making the burgers, he under cooked it really bad and the other time was like eating charcoal, so he has me do the cooking. We were both already in a joking mood so when he asked me to throw another burger in the pan, I star

Hey all, This week was pretty standard so let me tell you about one of our service projects. We helped out a member of our branch with our "Young men's", Which consists of 4 of the 5 youngest members of the branch, excluding JJ because he's only 3, and a part member couple. the member, Brother Richards, was having us do all kinds of tasks on his farm, from cutting down wild rose bushes, Elder Miles still has a few cuts from them, to gathering up piles of fallen tree branches into a massive burn pile. We ended up pulling out his chain and strapping it around an old, rotting tree and dragged it behind his farm truck to the pile. He said that We'll need to come back in a couple of weeks so we can burn it.  The branch also decided that they wanted to redo the garden out front, so we helped Sister Mathews with that  Friday,  digging up the old garden and preparing for the branch work day, which was supposed to be the 28th, but we found out yesterday that about half

Hey Everyone, The past few weeks have been a long stretch of days filled with lots of service, as I'm sure you've probably seen on my Dad's Facebook. Quickly about that picture, Elder Miles and I are standing in about 4 inches of water, with another 3 inches of silt underneath. We are helping a member who's husband isn't a member, build up her stream. She needed large rocks for the foundation, and I mean large. We ended up grabbing a pick and a large iron nail in order to move it, rolling it up the stream to where she needed it because it was too heavy to pick up. We also had transfers this past week but Elder Miles and I are both staying in Luray so nothing really changed. I did have the opportunity to do to go to Luray Caverns with the Front Royal Elders before the transfer ended. It was so incredibly beautiful how God influences the earth. I'll put some of the pictures I took down below. I'll also put in a picture of our last District Meeting of the t

General Conference

Hey all, This has been a week filled with stuff and yet I feel like I don't have hardly anything to write about. We went up to Winchester for District Meeting  on Tuesday  because President came to do interviews, so that happened as well. There was kind of a funny moment around that, we were talking about the change in transfers and he said he didn't know how long I would be here, then I mentioned how much I liked it here and he laughed and said good because I may be here for a while, which was exciting to hear. He also said he wouldn't be surprised if I ended up back in Baltimore too, so needless to say, I felt properly energized after talking with him. Then we got Five Guys; we don't have one anywhere near Luray or Front Royal.  On Wednesday  we did Weekly planning because had our weekly service with Sister Matthews changed from  Friday  to  Thursday . Our service for her this week consisted of continual moving of rocks to build the stream, but this week we we
