Hey all, Transfers were this past week so  Monday  and  Tuesday  were mostly spent packing and saying goodbye to the members in Luray. Elder Miles and I had to wake up at  5 am  to make the 3 hour drive to Colombia where we had coordinated with our new companions so we all arrived at about the same time. But got there safely and with minimal traffic, for which I was grateful . My new companion, Elder Apgood picked me up there and we drove to the Susquehanna, north of Baltimore. Since we had to conserve as many miles as possible, we drove right through Inner Harbor as opposed to going around the city. It was a bit strange driving through my old area, one where I'm used to having to walk or ride the bus everywhere. We had a few good laughs about the area, because we've both served in the Inner Harbor ward in the past. The Susquehanna ward is very large boundaries wise, but most of the work is in Havre De Grace, Bel Air, and Aberdeen, although we aren't allowed to work on

Another Transfer

Hey all, So I guess the biggest news this week is that it's transfer week. Elder Miles and I are both leaving and they aren't putting a new set in this next transfer. Elder Miles is going up to Hancock and I'l be going to the Susquehanna ward near Baltimore with Elder Apgood, who I served around while I was in Inner Harbor. I have loved this area so much and have grown to love the people here so much that I know it's going to be really hard to leave, but I know that I can make it through by relying on the Lord, and I also know that I'm going to have a great time with Elder Apgood.  In other news,  on Tuesday  we had exchanges. I went up to Front Royal with Elder Harris and we had a great day together. We ended up picking up an investigator for them, an awesome young dad. Meanwhile, Elder Miles and Elder Livermore met a nice couple for us. We met with them later in the week and we aren't sure if they are really interested or just happy for the company.

Cows in the Heat

Hey everyone, I'm going to start with a totally random event from last night and then I'll work backwards from there. Elder Miles and I were driving home last night when we saw a bunny running across the street. It reached the opposite curbing  before I got to it, then randomly jumped about 3 or 4 feet into the air. It was so random, we both laughed the rest of the way home. We also had a short powerful rainstorm last night; we were getting ready to call Elder Miles's parents when it rained really hard for about 10 minutes, then a huge bolt of lightning that knocked out the power for about 30 seconds, followed almost immediately by the rocking of thunder. After the thunder it stopped raining. I love the random funky weather of Virginia.  On Saturday , we spent most of the day on Brother Richard's farm, we walked around his property line, repairing his electric fence, then we helped him dig some holes, which involved us going into one of his fields to get some di

Hey everyone, So Elder Miles and I were talking last night and he mentioned something his Dad said last week and I totally thought it was two or three weeks ago, so needless to say, it has been a very long week, but surprisingly, I don't have that much to report. Tuesday, we had to say goodbye to a a giant of a man, Elder Lloyd. Seriously, that man made me feel short! He honorably finished his mission and returned home last Thursday. He delivered awesome instruction in District Meeting about putting our disobedience on the altar of sacrifice, and demonstrated that by having us write three things we need to improve on onto an index card then he put it in a metal bucket. After the meeting was over, we took the bucket outside and burned it while drinking Martinelli's to say goodbye. Thursday we had a meeting up in Frederick, nothing really eventful there, but I got a few great pictures on the drive, well Elder Miles took them because I was driving. We had Exchanges Friday  so Elde
