Hey Everyone, Sorry I didn't email last week, I was helping the Zone Leaders move a pair of Elders from one apartment to another and that ended up taking all day. But I made it to Savage Mill alright and managed to injure myself. It isn't a bad injury, just an overextended  muscle that connects the bottom of my heel to my toes. So that's been fun. We've still been able to do some good work this week. Elder Teske and I have been getting a laugh about the fact that whenever we knock on someone's door, they aren't home. Seriously though, we've been knocking on a ton of potentials and members homes, but no one is home. You would think that it would be frustrating, but it's amazing the power of laughter, we just keep walking to the next door. We did have a really interesting conversation with a Muslim woman on her doorstep. It was kind of like we were comparing notes, I had a few questions I wanted to know about their history, and she

Onward, Ever Onward

Hey everyone, It has been a pretty good week, we had District Meeting with the Zone Leaders  on Tuesday , we delivered a blessing to a very sweet sister in our ward  on Thursday . She has had who knows how many medical problems over the last decades, and she landed back in the hospital  Wednesday  night and was feeling discouraged and hopeless. One of the councilors in the Relief Society Presidency contacted us  Thursday  morning to see if we could go give her a blessing. So we went right over and she was asleep. So we left and came back a few hours later and visited with her about everything that's happened and talked about finding comfort through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It was such a spiritually strong meeting, that it set the tone for the rest of the day, even though we had no real success the rest of the day. Saturday  was wonderful because we received a call from a pair of missionaries in Delaware saying that they had put an ad for a free Bible and Book of Mormon o

Eternity is a very long time to be wrong

Hey Everybody, I couldn't come up with a clever subject line for this week, so I decided to use a line from Elder Southwick from District Meeting a couple of weeks ago. He is such a funny Elder and always has great one liners like that. We spent pretty much all of Preparation Day last week with them and Winter's Run, which was a ton of fun. Winter's Run took us to the a Asian place for lunch and it was amazing! We were going to go hiking, but it looked like it might rain and we didn't want to take the risk of getting soaked, because the rainstorms out here are crazy, and they come out of no where. It didn't rain during Preparation Day, but as soon as we had dinner with the Koncurat's and left, it started pouring for the rest of the night. Tuesday we had Exchanges, which is 3.5 for Elder Livermore and I together. We were laughing about that as we were driving back to my apartment. We got some good work done, mostly going by members that no one ha

Hey everyone, So this email is probably going to be fairly short for one major reason. Elder Lape was complaining about a headache at the end of  Sunday  night and by Monday morning, he felt super sick, so we didn't go anywhere. Tuesday we went to District Meeting, which almost finished him off, so we came home and he slept pretty much all day.  Wednesday  he slept for most of the day as well.  Thursday  he said he was feeling a bit better, so we arranged to go out with Brother Jones, a member in our ward, for an hour or so to try and contact members that we have their records but no one knows them. We tried by one, but no one answered. When we tried by the second one, we were met by a very nice Baptist lady, who told us that the member hasn't considered himself a member since the early 70s. When we got back in the car, Elder Lape said that he wasn't feeling good anymore, so we called it a night.  Friday , he looked worse than he did  on Wednesday , so I guess that hour
