Back to Baltimore

Hey Everyone, Hey, so transfers are here again, and as per my usual pattern, I'm leaving Walkersville after 2 transfers. This time I'm headed back to Baltimore. But this time I'll be in the Chesapeake ward, which borders the Inner Harbor ward on one side. My new companion will be Elder Patterson, who's going to be my first companion since Elder Haslam who is older than me, so that should be fun.  As for what happened this week, I honestly don't remember a ton. With Preparation Day on Tuesday and District Council on Wednesday, the whole week seemed a day off. And we had exchanges on Wednesday, which are usually on Tuesday, so that all threw me for a loop. Exchanges were a lot of fun, it was my fourth exchange with Elder Musonda so we were just able to hit the ground running, or rather, biking. We got to meet this young guy named Eric who was a Messianic Jew. We asked him a few questions about his beliefs and they sounded very Christian. He invited us to his c

Brrr!

Hey Everyone  Sorry I didn't email yesterday, President wanted us out during the holiday so he switched Preparation Day to today. And we were gonna help our Ward Mission Leader with his radiator, but he just called us saying that it was just a leak, not his water pump, so now we're just chilling at the church.  This week has been filled with lots of walking in the freezing cold because it was too cold to bike. We had interviews all of Tuesday, President and I talked a lot about prioritization with everything that is required of us. It was a really good talk. I also got to give my first Baptismal interview that day, so that was interesting being on the other side of the desk, metaphorically saying.  We had a few lessons throughout the rest of the week, we had a good lesson with Kalil on Friday, resetting our vision for why we meet together. We met with an older couple that we found last week, not sure how solid they are, but they are nice and willing to talk to us, w

18 Months and a Dash of Snow

Hey Everyone, This week really blazed by so hopefully I remember everything I wanted to say in the email. Tuesday was amazing, During MLC, I received some pretty amazing revelation about how I needed to shape District Council this past week, so we had a good long discussion about Divine Identity. Then I got to go on exchanges with Elder Moffett, the first time we've been able to work together since the MTC, so that was pretty awesome. We got a lot of great work done, including starting to teach a recent convert's parents, which is super awesome. Elder Moffett and I had a good long talk after we went home that helped me realize how much has changed since our MTC days, most of it in a good way, we both have very different views of the world than we had back then. Wednesday was awesome because we were having our normal Book of Mormon class, when Bishop poked his head in and said that two people walked into the church and were asking questions about us. So we sat down

Blink and you miss it

Hey Everyone, This week was crazy fast, we were sitting in our apartment at the end of the day of Saturday and looked at each other and said, "Is tomorrow really Sunday?" It was crazy. Tuesday I got to go on Exchanges with the Zone Leaders, which was a lot of fun, I got to meet a few people from the Braddock Heights ward as well as a couple of people the Zone Leaders are teaching; one of them took me back to my Harbor days because they talked exactly like people in Baltimore, which was really cool. As we were talking, I could hear my Baltimore accent start slipping in again, which I thought was pretty funny. Wednesday and Thursday were filled with planning and biking; we were able to have an awesome lesson with a part member family about Christ's Ministry. It was super awesome. Friday was the highlight of my week though. Every month, the Zone Leaders and Sister Training Leaders meet with President and the Assistants and talk about the mission, but this month

Dec. 31, 2018

Hey Everyone, So the most exciting thing this week was the bikes. While we were biking to the Cleveland's for Christmas Eve dinner, Elder Jackson's tire blew out again. And yes, it was the same tire as the previous Saturday. We ended up getting a ride from Brother Cleveland, but he could only fit one bike in his car, so I had to ride alongside while Elder Jackson rode in the car with Brother Cleveland. We called Elder Llewelyn to see if he had an extra tread, he did but he said he wasn't going to be able to get it to us until Thursday, so we left our bikes at Brother Cleveland's and worked on foot until Thursday. Thankfully, Brother Cleveland dropped us off at the Pratt's and we were able to visit with them for a while until we walked home, which wasn't too far because they live in our neighborhood. Then Christmas came and went, I loved talking to my family, y'all are the best, then we were able to have dinner with our Relief Society President and h
